More and more people are working from home now they have seen how easy it is to make money online. It appears that the more hours you spend working from home, the more money you make online. They have seen their friends running their own home based business and earning a healthy amount from their online business. The amazing thing is that their friends do not stock any goods in their home, what they are selling is information.
So how do they do it – what’s the secret to making money online?
You’ve done your market research, and by now you are getting bombarded with loads of information form all sorts of places online telling you how easy it is to make money online.
Help me choose one way of making money online
Well, the first question you need to answer is not which one to choose but to ask yourself what expectations do you have for your business, what do you hope to achieve in terms of profit – how much do you expect to earn, how quickly do you expect to earn it and what risks are you prepared to take.
Research shows that one common trait displayed by successful entrepreneurs is a willingness to take risks! The bigger the risk the bigger the potential return.
What sort of risks are you willing to take?
Making money online is a numbers game and there’s no doubt that you have access, via the internet, to literally billions of potential buyers. Lets look at a simple example, say you sell a product, whatever it is, online for £35. You could setup a pay per click campaign (PPC) using a keyword that costs £0.25p per click, sending you 100 visitors at a cost of £25, your profit on the sale would be £10, not much –but multiply that by a factor of 100 and you could be making £100 per day. (1000 visitors will cost £250 at £0.25p, you sell your product to 1 in every 100 visitors which brings in £350 therefore your profit equals £100)
Are you willing to take the risk of spending £250 per day on advertising – based on statistics? Maybe you are….. However you must remember that conversion rates are based on averages and therefore you are just as likely to loose £100 per day as you are making a profit.
So is there a better way? there is another way, infact there are lots of other ways whether any method is better or not depends on you, what you’re selling, and how well you sell it.
One thing’s for certain your success wont happen overnight. Why?, because if you’re not going to use PPC you need another platform to market and sell what ever it is you intend selling. You’ll need a website or a blog and possibly a domain name, and visitors to your site who subsequently buy from it before you make any money. Yes you can get a free website and yes you can do all the hard work yourself to keep your overheads to an absolute minimum and so maximise your profits but the truth is people are not going to find your website in sufficient numbers to make any real profit in the short term.
However if you’re willing to put in the hard work and slowly increase the number of visitors to your website you will eventually start to make money online.
